Bea bags Anak TV Seal Awards

ABS-CBN, including our very own Bea Alonzo, bags Anak TV Seal Awards 2006

Several ABS-CBN programs and celebrities garnered honors during the Anak TV Seal Awards, TV Patrol World reported Friday.

Six of the network’s programs made it on the list of most well-liked TV programs including Rated K, Game KNB, TV Patrol, Gulong ng Palad, Bituing Walang Ningning and Sa Piling Mo.

Meanwhile, 14 personalities of the network including Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and Korina Sanchez made it to the Most Well-Liked Male and Female TV Personalities.

Other winners include Piolo Pascual, Julius Babao, Aga Muhlach, Sam Milby, Jericho Rosales, Sharon Cuneta, Christine Bersola-Babao, Bernadette Sembrano, Kristine Hermosa, Sarah Geronimo, Bea Alonzo and Judy Ann Santos.

Eleven Studio 23 and 10 ABS-CBN shows also received citations as child-sensitive programs.

The Anak TV seal is a guide for wholesome and quality programming, and does not divide shows into categories the way movies do.

To obtain an Anak TV seal, a network nominates its foreign and local programs, which are then screened and rated in the provinces. This, according to foundation secretary-general Mag Cruz Hatol, will give a more accurate perspective of what Filipinos really think of TV shows. About 90 to 95 percent of screenings of nominated shows are done outside of Metro Manila.
